Wycliff convert North London Wedding Venue into NHS Plasma Testing Centre

Thursday 12 November 2020

Wycliff Services was employed by the NHS Blood Transfusion Department to convert a North London based wedding venue currently out of use due to COVID restrictions into a temporary Plasma Testing Centre.

Wycliff Services completed the conversion without damaging the existing facilities, installing features such as laminate flooring, room partitions, electrical sockets and a ramp with a kickboard and hand rail. All of these features are shown in the photos below.

The purpose of the Plasma Testing Centre is to trial how effective blood plasma transfusions are at fighting off COVID-19. After an infection, plasma will contain the virus’ antibodies used to fight it, and in theory, these antibodies can be used to treat patients suffering with COVID-19.

The NHS is in high demand of plasma donors. If you have been infected with COVID 19, you can donate 28 days after you fully recovered, and you can register your interest immediately. The donating session will typically take 1 hour 15 minutes, and your body will quickly replace the antibodies, which means you will be able to donate on a regular basis!
